Carbon-Nitrogen nalyzers

C-N analyzers (Carbon-Nitrogen analyzers) are laboratory instruments designed to determine the carbon (C) and nitrogen (N) content in various samples. These analyzers are widely used in environmental analysis, agricultural studies, and chemical research, as both carbon and nitrogen are essential elements in biological and environmental processes.

Key Features :
Principle :
C-N analyzers typically use the combustion method to measure the carbon and nitrogen content of a sample.

In this method, the sample is burned in a high-temperature furnace in the presence of oxygen. The combustion process converts carbon into carbon dioxide (CO₂) and nitrogen into nitrogen gas (N₂) or nitric oxide (NO), depending on the analyzer type.
Detection :
The CO₂ and N₂ or NO gases produced are then measured using detectors, such as an infrared (IR) detector for CO₂ and a thermal conductivity detector (TCD) or chemiluminescence detector for nitrogen.

Types of C-N Analyzers :
Elemental Analyzers : These are commonly used for measuring the total content of carbon and nitrogen in solid samples.

Flash Combustion Analyzers : A form of elemental analyzer that uses a rapid combustion process to determine the elemental content.

Flow Injection Analysis (FIA) : An advanced method often used in conjunction with C-N analyzers for higher throughput and enhanced precision
